Minutes from the June 3, 2025 City of Jeanerette Finance Committee Meeting Present- Finance Manager Christie Conner, Susan Colden City Clerk and Alderwoman Charlene Moore Alderwoman. Mayor Carol Bourgeois Jr., arrived late. Alderwoman Moore called the meeting to order. There were no public comments. Alderwoman Moore started by reviewing the April 30, P & L and comparing actual expenses to budget noting that the year to date budget should be 83%. It was also noted some of the areas that are out of balance are going to be corrected in the amended budget that will be adopted on June 9. There was a discussion on a few accounts. There was a discussion about the sewer project and funding. The ordinance regarding the sewer and water rates will have the water and sewer rates increasing in July. Ms Conner reviewed the Utility billing status report, the bank balances, and aged payables. The Mayor joined the meeting. Alderwoman Moore asked if the Mayor if he talked to Sellers about the sewer rehab and he said he hadn’t. Alderwoman Moore outlined some of the discussions with other vendors. Ms. Conner reviewed the sales tax report and the cash flow analysis. The Mayor also outlined the current information on the clearance program that we have $500,000. An inspector wants to charge $2,000 per home. He then outlined the homes and how somehow avoid the condemnation process. He encouraged everyone to create a list. With no other items to discuss the meeting was adjourned.
