The following resolution was offered by Alderman Bourgeois, seconded by Alderwoman Moore and carried:
RESOLUTION 11 OF 2024
A RESOLUTION GRANTING THE MAYOR THE AUTHORITY TO EXECUTE A COOPERATIVE ENDEAVOR AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE, CITY OF JEANERETTE AND ACADIANA CRIMINALISTICS LABORATORY
WHEREAS, Acadiana Criminalistics Laboratory District, a political subdivision of the State of Louisiana, domiciled in Iberia Parish, Louisiana, appearing herein by and through its duly authorized President Mark Garber; provides essential investigative services to the City of Jeanerette; and,
WHEREAS, the current facility was found to be no longer functional for their operations; and
WHEREAS, Acadiana Criminalistics Laboratory (ACL) applied and received grant for construction of a new facility; and
WHEREAS, The City of Jeanerette did commit by Resolution 7 of 2022 financial support of this project and committed $44,305.00; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jeanerette that the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign and submit the cooperative endeavor agreements between the City of Jeanerette and ACL.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that this Resolution shall become effective July 1, 2024 and the City will send the signed agreement and submit the $44,305.00. This Resolution having been, carried with a vote of all Yeah the above resolution was duly adopted:
THEREUPON, the Resolution was declared adopted this 10th day of June, 2024
